The list of accomplishments and accolades accumulated by The Eagles is too long to recount, their music having been a staple of American music since the 1970s, and their popularity never waning. With five number-one singles and four number-one albums, two of which are among the best-selling records of all time, the group has helped form the backbone of classic rock; hits like Desperado, Hotel California, and Lyin` Eyes are instantly recognizable and timeless. After helping to popularize the Southern California rock sound of the `70s, the group--at this point made up of Joe Walsh, Don Henley, Glenn Frey, and Timothy Schmit--broke up to pursue solo projects, but reunited in 1994 in recognition of the ever-loyal fans who still wanted to see them playing together. This 2004 concert, held in Melbourne, Australia, during The Eagles` monumental farewell tour, was one of the highlights of this historic world event, as one of the most popular American bands of all time says goodbye to its countless adoring fans.

This dual-disc release should dispel any doubts about Josh Groban`s enormous appeal. LIVE AT THE GREEK documents the young singer`s final stop of his 2004 tour at the historic Los Angeles venue, and demonstrates why he`s earned the ear-splitting screams of adoring fans. Groban is a charismatic performer who wraps a powerful baritone voice in boyish charm, and shows keen instincts in selecting material that`s ideally suited to his talents.This performance focuses mainly on selections from Groban`s multi-platinum CLOSER album, including powerful renditions of
Oceano,
Remember When It Rained,
and
Never Let Go,
among others. But LIVE AT THE GREEK also showcases his range and versatility, as in versions of Paul Simon`s
America
and Don McLean`s
Vincent (Starry, Starry Night),
as well as a surprising cover of Linkin Park`s
My December.

Canto Alla Vita,
and the fine violin work of Lucia Micarelli is featured on
Mi Mancherai (Il Postino).

On the first anniversary of the death of George Harrison--November 29, 2002--a group of his friends paid tribute to the Quiet Beatle by staging an all-star concert featuring the songs of Harrison, from his days with the Fab Five as well as his long and underrated solo career and work with the Traveling Wilburys. Also included were songs written for and about Harrison, from Ringo Starr's evocative Photograph to Ravi and Anoushka Shankar's inspirational Arpan. Among the outstanding performances, held in London's Royal Albert Hall, were Eric Clapton and Jeff Lynne playing I Want to Tell You, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers blasting out Taxman and I Need You, Paul McCartney chiming in with While My Guitar Gently Weeps and For You Blue, and fifth Beatle Billy Preston taking on My Sweet Lord. Clapton and McCartney's duet on Something is one of the many highlights. The elaborate concert, directed by David Leland and including backstage behind-the-scenes interviews with some of the participants, also featured appearances by the Boys and Girls Choir, the English Chamber Choir, the London Metropolitan Orchestra, and the Monty Python crew, just to change the mood. Harrison's musician son, Dhani, also shows up--his resemblance to his father is remarkable. Proceeds from the film and DVD release will benefit Harrison's Material World Charitable Foundation.

Very few Led Zeppelin performances were caught on camera during the band's life-span, but the footage that has been preserved for posterity is collected on this release. With a running time of over five-and-a-half hours, this is the definitive word on Zep's global stage-straddling performances. The footage is taken from London's Royal Albert Hall in January 1970; London's Earls Court in May 1975; Knebworth in August 1979; and Madison Square Garden in July 1973. Guitarist Jimmy Page has taken great care to restore, remix and remaster the sound from these shows, providing a visual and sonic assault that offers indisputable proof of Led Zeppelin's reputation as a rock& roll behemoth. Additional footage comes in the shape of several television interviews, a bootleg shot of the band performing Heartbreaker, behind the scenes footage from Knebworth, and a whole lot more.

German opera master Richard Wagner was known his melodrama and grandeur. A figure whose works and persona were larger than life, Wagner remains one of the most significant figures in the history of opera.
