Total Balalaika Show (DVD)
In 1989, Finnish director Aki Kaurismaki helmed a film called LENINGRAD COWBOYS GO AMERICA, which followed the fortunes of a foreign rock& roll band as they toured the USA. A sizeable cult hit, the film picked up many plaudits and helped establish Kaurismaki as a name to watch. In 1994, Kaurismaki focused his attention on the Leningrad Cowboys once again, as they played a remarkable show to celebrate the ending of the Cold War. The Alexandrov Red Army Ensemble also played, with the two wildly different acts pulling an incredible crowd of 70,000 people. Captured here on camera, watch the astonishing events as they unfold, with the undoubted highlight coming when the groups join forces to work their way through a unique version of Stairway to Heaven.DVD Features:Region 0Keep CaseAdditional Release Material: Four Featurettes wit Behind the Scenes Footage and Interviews Five Bonus Shorts by Aki Kaurismaki Leningrad Cowboys Discography and Biography Four Lenigrad Cowboys music videosInteractive Features: Scene Access

Duran Duran - Sing Blue Silver (DVD)
In 1984 Duran Duran undertook the hugely ambitious
Arena
tour. Apart from a fleeting appearance at 1985`s
Live Aid
concert, this series of shows was the last time the original line up of the band performed together until their successful reunion in 2003. They took film director Russell Mulcahy along for the ride, and he executed the footage in style by producing the concert film ARENA. SING BLUE SILVER is designed as a complimentary release to ARENA, and includes previously unseen footage that failed to make the final cut of the film. An intriguing look at one of the hottest bands of the `80s, this release offers a behind the scenes glimpse at the band who, for many, provided the soundtrack of the decade.

Cream - Royal Albert Hall London (DVD)
Cream`s set of reunion shows in May 2005 was a justly hot ticket. The legendary rock trio of Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce, and Eric Clapton--two jazz musicians and a blues guitarist--was one of the most influential bands of the 1960s, even though they played together for less than three years. They brought their psychedelic fusion of blues and pop into the mainstream with albums like FRESH CREAM and WHEELS OF FIRE; Clapton, long regarded as one of the greatest guitarists of all time, did some of his best work on those albums. London`s Royal Albert Hall, the site of what was supposed to be Cream`s final performance back in 1968, was also the venue for their reunion show. Sounding as if they`d been on vacation for a few weeks instead of disbanded for well over three decades, Cream brought the house down with a series of four shows, all of which are excerpted here. The band performs classics like
Spoonful,
Born Under a Bad Sign,
Sunshine of Your Love,
and
White Room,
among more than 20 others. Also featured are interviews with Baker, Bruce, and Clapton.

Peter Gabriel - Still Growing Up Live & Unwrapped (DVD)
Two programs featuring the remarkable music and personality of Peter Gabriel are featured here. In the LIVE section, a complement to 2003`s GROWING UP LIVE, director Hamish Hamilton captures still more of Gabriel`s legendary live shows, this time at smaller and more intimate European venues, rather than spectacular arenas. In UNWRAPPED, Anna Gabriel directs a segment exploring the origins and stories behind Gabriel`s songs, which includes exclusive footage of some of his stripped-down, bare-bones performances.

Africa Calling Live 8 at Eden (DVD)
A series of concerts designed to coincide with the annual G8 Summit and to mark the 20th anniversary of Live Aid, Live 8 was held in nine cities around the globe on July 2nd, 2005. These locations included South Africa and all of the G8 nations, where over 1,000 musicians performed in the spirit of increasing awareness to issues facing impoverished nations. Some of the topics being stressed to the Summit leaders were debt relief, AIDS, the importance of fair trade, and an increase in U.S. aid to struggling countries. Put together by Peter Gabriel, this specific concert raised money for the Make Poverty History campaign by gathering some of Africa`s most renowned musical artists. Held in Cornwall, England, the event featured songs by Shikisha, Chartwell Duitro, Tinariwen, Daara J, Coco Mbassi, and Syiyaya among many others.
