Something Wierd Video - Doris Wishman Double Feature (DVD) Something Wierd Video - Doris Wishman Double Feature (DVD) $14.22 » Something Wierd Video - Doris Wishman Double Feature (DVD)

Doris Wishman was easily the most prolific female director in history, making over 30 films during her career as a low-budget sexploitation director in an utterly male-dominated field. Quirky, experimental, innovative, artistic, and hilarious, her films have outlandish plots that put John Waters to shame, and take their place in the roster of cult films as some of the wackiest skinflicks ever made.
In INDECENT DESIRES, Zeb is an eccentric who finds love with a plastic doll he finds in the trash. When he caresses his newfound paramour he can't get over how lifelike she feels; the pretty blonde Ann, however, is the secret recipient of his touch. She thinks she's going crazy as she feels invisible hands exploring her body, while Zeb can't get enough of his demented obsession. Then, Mary is infatuated with her insipid husband's sleazy brother, Frankie, in MY BROTHER'S WIFE. But when Frankie puts her up to securing some money for them to run away together, he forgets to mention his other girlfriend, Zena.Wishman was a filmmaker of a unique vision, who often wrote, cast, directed and edited her films, piecing together her stories on next to no budget, and creating a mise-en-scene and filmic language that was all her own. Often there were subversive plot lines and twists that were far outside the bounds of regular sexploitation films, and she retained her artistic integrity throughout her career. This DVD also includes various, highly entertaining trailers from other Wishman films and a couple of early nudie cuties!DVD Features:Region 1Keep CaseFull Frame - 1.33Additional Release Material: Doris Wishman Trailer Show Featurette - 1. Something Wierd Video - Two Girls for a Madman/ Mr. Mari's Girls Something Wierd Video - Two Girls for a Madman/ Mr. Mari's Girls $14.22 » Something Wierd Video - Two Girls for a Madman/ Mr. Mari's Girls

TWO GIRLS FOR A MADMAN is a gem in the oeuvre of the quirky skinflick maestro Barry Mahon; it follows two young, attractive, and temperamentally opposite ballet students who are nonetheless good friends. Sonya is a good girl who takes her studies seriously, while Toni is a wild swinger with dreams of acting; she attends raucous orgies which, of course, are shown here in graphic detail. When psychotic Frank Yeager encounters Toni at an orgy, he blatantly flouts his psychiatrist's advice and follows her, eventually attacking her in a rough sexual encounter. Later, however, she recommends him to Sonya, describing him as all man, and the madman eventually shows up at the girls' school looking for a follow-up to the first act! Quite explicit softcore, especially for a film from the 60s, TWO GIRLS sports an impressive orgy scene and an extremely sensual, luxurious shower scene.A millionaire represents the last hope of a host of sexy young things in trouble in MR. MARI'S GIRLS, and he is willing to come to their aid, for a price. Stella is a beautiful model hooked on heroin who will do anything for her next fix, including dance nude for Mr. Mari. Dirk is a tough lesbian desperately in love with her blind girlfriend Barbara, while poor Diane is a young high school girl who has gotten knocked up by her English teacher. All these lost souls congregate at Mr. Mari's place, and compete with one another for his help, resulting in one of the most spectacular catfights in sexploitation history!Helen Doe is a dutiful niece on her way to visit her aunt, blissfully unaware that a hooded strangler is lurking about; she is waylaid and brought to The House of Horror on the Hill. There, she and six other TORTURED FEMALES are forced to perform according to their captors' will, coerced into submission through various forms of more or less shocking, titillating torture. This is an incredibly eccentric, exuberant roughie.

This collection brings together three creepy, underrated vampire B-movies. HORROR OF THE BLOOD MONSTERS (1970) is a product of cult director Al Adamson, who brings us the story of a space expedition (led by horror fave John Carradine) that comes face to face with a vicious race of vampire aliens, snake creatures, and demonic bats determined to infect the Earth. 1966`s THE BLOOD DRINKERS, famous for its unusual tinting effects, stars Ronald Remy as a powerful vampire determined to resurrect his dead beloved with the blood of innocent townspeople. Finally, DOCTOR DRACULA (1978), also from Adamson, has Dracula posing as Dr. Gregorio (Geoffrey Land), and leaving death and gruesome bloodshed behind him everywhere he goes. All three films are bizarre, intriguing, and oddly memorable.

Back from the Grave Collection (DVD) Back from the Grave Collection (DVD) $14.22 » Back from the Grave Collection (DVD)

This collection brings together three creepy but underrated horror films, all of which involve the use and misuse of graves and corpses. In THE FLESH AND THE FIENDS (1959), an innovative and principled doctor named Robert Knox (Peter Cushing) needs corpses in order to conduct experiments and advance medical science--but his suppliers aren`t scrupulous about how they acquire, or manufacture, the bodies. GRAVEYARD OF HORROR (1971) stars Bill Curran as a scientist working on a transmutation project, who decides to experiment on himself, with disastrous results. Zombies and a bloodsucking man/lizard hybrid help make this bizarre European film memorable. Finally, RAIDERS OF THE LIVING DEAD (1986) is an oddity centering on an archetypal mad scientist`s zombification of executed convicts. It falls to a reporter (Robert Deveau) and a teenager (Scott Schwartz of A CHRISTMAS STORY fame) to stop him in this `80s schlock-fest from director Samuel M. Sherman.

Killer Barbys Vs. Dracula (DVD) Killer Barbys Vs. Dracula (DVD) $14.22 » Killer Barbys Vs. Dracula (DVD)

Cult director Jess Franco (VAMPYROS LESBOS, LOVE LETTERS OF A PORTUGUESE NUN) has been the prolific force behind many of the better B-movie efforts to be released since the early 60s. During this time, he garnered the supreme honor, along with Luis Bunuel, of being deemed one of the most dangerous filmmakers by the Catholic Church. This 2002 sequel to 1996s KILLER BARBYS is characterized by Franco's recent adoption of the digital video medium, which he handles with aplomb. The story follows real-life rock band the Killer Barbys as they rehearse for their upcoming tour, when chaos is unleashed with the arrival of Irina (Franco's wife, Lina Romay), a director of the Transylvania tourism office. She has brought with her the corpse of Count Dracula, which Barbys frontwoman Silvia Superstar adopts as the subject of her new song, Wake Up. The vampire awakens--seduced by Silvia's imperative--and wreaks fear and destruction upon Silvia and everyone in her life, while Irina calls upon vampire hunter Dr. Seward and his anxious assistant Albinus to end the Count's reign of terror.DVD Features:Region 1Keep CaseFull Frame - 1.33

Vampyros Lesbos (DVD) Vampyros Lesbos (DVD) $14.22 » Vampyros Lesbos (DVD)

Soledad Miranda stars as Countess Carody, a rich, hedonistic vampiress living in seclusion on an island off Turkey with her mute servant Morpho. At night she flies off to perform an erotic nightclub act in an Istanbul club. A tourist named Linda (Ewa Stroembnerg) is so transfixed by the performance she pursues the countess back to the island, where they get it on, and exchange blood. Meanwhile, Agra (Heidrun Kussin), the last victim/lover of Countess Carody is still recovering in Dr. Seward's (Dennis Price) sanitarium, and the doctor has plans to track the countess down and kill her. Surreal imagery and languid lesbian love scenes abound, captured in inspired zoom shots and enhanced with the famously psychedelic score by German composers Mannfred Hubler and Siegfried Schwab.Director Jess Franco cemented his reputation as a genius of cinematic sex, drugs and death with this film, in which he also appears as a psychopathic killer. For aficionados of lesbian vampire movies, or just wild 1960s-1970s European cinema, this is an essential classic that begins to makes sense only with repeat viewings.DVD Features:Region 0Keep CaseWidescreen
