Gozu (DVD)
This wildly bizarre Japanese horror movie from master Takeski Miike (AUDITION) follows the mysterious disappearance of Brother, a gangster who was accidentally killed by one of his Mafia cohorts, Minami. Searching for Brother's body--which vanished minutes after he was shot--Minami stumbles into a strange secluded inn and gets a room. He is instantly aware that something fishy is going on, and as he gets to know the innkeepers more intimately that feeling is backed up by evidence. Given to loud, rambunctious sessions of pumping her own breast milk, the innkeeper's wife is certainly a spectacle. Meanwhile, the violent sadomasochistic relationship (read: whipping) shared between the innkeeper, his wife, and his brother is quite another. Nothing, however, can top Miike's grand finale for GOZU which combines some very important Givenchy crotchless panties, an old man who has a unique solution for his anal fixation, and an extremely gelatinous odds-defying birth.DVD Features:Region (unknown)Keep CaseAnamorphic Letterboxed WidescreenAudio: (unspecified) - Japanese Subtitles - English - OptionalAdditional Release Material: Audio Commentary - 1. Love Bites (DVD)
Part black comedy and part atmospheric horror film, LOVE BITES (LES MORSURES DE L`AUBE) satirizes the narcissistic and image-obsessed aspects of European culture. Antoine (Guilliaume Canet) is a Parisian social leech whose obsession with the latest popular nightclubs has him leading a life of poverty; he sleeps at the local gym, where all of his possessions fit neatly into a single locker. Usually able to talk his way into any supercool establishment, Antoine runs into one club where the bouncers are more reluctant than usual. He makes the mistake of invoking the name of Jordan Charlier, a legendary party promoter, which leads the club owner to offer him a million francs to locate the now-reclusive Jordan. When Antoine agrees, his investigations lead him to a world of underground sex clubs where Jordan`s sister Violaine (Asia Argento) holds sway with a hypnotic power and a penchant for biting the necks of her lovers... LOVE BITES is a stylish and atmospheric French horror-comedy.

39 years after making the groundbreaking independent horror film BLOOD FEAST, Herschell Gordon Lewis returns with a sequel to that cult favorite. J.P. Delahoussaye stars as Faud Ramses III, the grandson of BLOOD FEAST's protagonist, who moves into his grandad's catering shop. It isn't long before Faud the 3rd proves to be a chip off the old block, luring buxom young women into his lair and carving them up for sandwiches. Though Lewis has sharpened his filmmaking chops since the 1963 original, the master's whimsical touch remains in evidence, making BLOOD FEAST 2 an enjoyable, if belated, sequel to a classic.DVD Features:Region 1Keep CaseAnamorphic WidescreenInteractive Features: Scene Access Interactive Menus

The American Nightmare (DVD)
Legendary horror directors reveal the inspiration behind their groundbreaking films of the 1960s and'70s in this thought-provoking documentary from filmmaker Adam Simon. Through film clips and interviews, masters of mayhem George Romero, Tobe Hooper, Wes Craven, David Cronenberg, John Landis, John Carpenter, and Tom Savini discuss how their disturbing cinematic creations were a direct social commentary on the real-life political horrors happening in the U.S. during that turbulent era: Vietnam, the Cold War, racial segregation, political assassinations, and the Kent State Massacre. By placing seminal films like NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, SHIVERS, THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT, and THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE in their proper historical context, THE AMERICAN NIGHTMARE finally gives the horror genre the credit it so rightly deserves as a barometer of the American sociopolitical landscape.DVD Features:Region [unknown]Keep CaseFull Frame - 1.33Audio: Dolby Digital Stereo - EnglishInteractive Features: Scene Access Interactive Menus

The Other Hell (DVD)
This slice of Italian nunsploitation stars Franca Stoppi as Mother Vincenzia, the head of a convent of nuns where a number of bizarre murders have occurred. When it becomes obvious that a number of the convent's sisters are deranged and seemingly possessed by the devil, a priest, Father Valerio, tries to intercede before the nuns succeed in carrying out whatever evil mission they seem intent on fulfilling. Directed by Bruno Mattei, one of Italy's most notorious exploitation auteurs, THE OTHER HELL is gory and bizarre, and manages a number of moments of surreal looniness that will certainly endear it to fans of the genre.DVD Features:Region 1Keep CaseLetterboxedAudio: Stereo - EnglishInteractive Features: Scene Access Interactive Menus

Zombie 4: After Death (DVD)
Although its numerical title seems to indicate that this is yet another sequel to Lucio Fulci's ZOMBIE (itself often listed as ZOMBI 2 to capitalize on the success of DAWN OF THE DEAD, which was also known as ZOMBI) and ZOMBIE 3, ZOMBIE 4 is actually a (what else?) zombie movie originally known as AFTER DEATH that was renamed to link to its supposed precursors. Set on a verdant tropical island where, 20 years before, a voodoo priest turned all of its inhabitants into the living dead, ZOMBIE 4 finds the only non-zombie descendent of the island returning to her homeland with a band of beer guzzling mercenaries. Soon, the mercenaries find themselves face to face with some rather energetic and hungry zombies while, across the island, a team of scientists unwittingly create even more of the flesh eating corpses. Much in the same vein as ZOMBI 3, ZOMBIE 4 is filled with gore, gratuitous nudity, and just as many laughs as shocks, making it another in a long line of entertaining Italian zombie films.DVD Features:Region 1Keep CaseFull FrameAudio: Stereo - EnglishInteractive Features: Scene Access Interactive Menus

Zombi 3 (DVD)
A supposed sequel to Fulci's legendary ZOMBIE (aka ZOMBI 2), there is actually no relation between ZOMBIE 3 and its alleged predecessor. Though Fulci is given full directorial credit, he dropped out of the project fairly early and was replaced by Bruno Mattei, who previously made the outrageously awful ZOMBIE knock-off HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD. Here, a trio of G.I.'s on leave are soaking up the rays on an idyllic island when a nearby scientific team tests a serum designed to bring the dead back to life.
Of course, the serum turns these corpses into flesh eating zombies with a penchant for bad dialog, feeding on buxom women, and behaving rather stupidly. So mind-bendingly awful that it's downright hilarious, ZOMBIE 3 may not be a worthy successor to ZOMBIE, but it is incredibly entertaining.DVD Features:Region 1Keep CaseAudio: Stereo - Italian Stereo - EnglishInteractive Features: Scene Access Interactive Menus
