MOMMY stars Patty McCormack (THE BAD SEED) as an Iowa mother who is abnormally obsessed with her 12-year-old daughter Jessica-Ann`s happiness, safety, and success. When the girl fails to get the Student of the Year award for the second year in a row, Mommy kills the teacher responsible for the oversight--thus beginning a maternally murderous spree in the heart of the Corn Belt. In MOMMY 2: MOMMY`S DAY, Patty McCormack (THE BAD SEED) stars as a murderous mom who was convicted of murder, but is wounded in a prison breakout attempt. She is given the chance to live in a halfway house if she will take a violence-suppressing drug, though she is not permitted to see her daughter. But when the authorities who try to prevent her from seeing the girl begin to turn up dead, Mommy is once again the prime suspect. REAL TIME: SIEGE AT LUCAS STREET MARKET: A pair of desperate young men hold up a convenience store seeking easy money, only to have everything go wrong. Soon a hostage crisis has developed and a media circus is in full swing, leading to a tense, dramatic conclusion. REAL TIME consists entirely of footage from security and news cameras, with enough footage for the viewer to choose multiple perspectives for any scene. Also included is MIKE HAMMER`S MICKEY SPILLANE, and the 1954 MIKE HAMMER pilot episode, which was directed by Blake Edwards (BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY`S).

Rory O'Shea (James McAvoy) is a fledgling adult who enthusiastically embodies youthful rebellion: he has spiked blond hair, a Che Guevara poster on his bedroom wall, and a propensity for loud music. But what makes Rory stand out from the crowd is his status as a wheelchair-bound muscular dystrophy patient who resides at the Carrigmore Home for the Disabled in Ireland. Rory attracts nervous looks from fellow residents and nurses, but makes a friend in cerebral palsy sufferer Michael Connolly (Steven Robertson), who is delighted when Rory understands the way he articulates himself despite a serious speech impediment. With Michael excited by this breakthrough, the duo decide to move out of Carrigmore and into their own apartment. Michael's errant father deserted him at a young age, so Rory and Michael track him down, lay a guilt trip on him, and tap him for necessary funds. After securing the cash, Rory realizes the confines of their wheelchairs will make certain tasks difficult, but a chance encounter at the local pub with a fun-loving girl named Siobhan (Romola Garai) sees her enlisted as their home help. The trio embark on some wonderfully happy times together, only tainted by Rory's unpredictable behavior, which is a perpetual thorn in the side of anyone he encounters.Director Damien O'Donnell (EAST IS EAST) delicately seesaw's between laughter and drama throughout RORY O'SHEA WAS HERE, leading to a funny, sad, and informative movie. McAvoy and Robertson--both able-bodied actors--give remarkable performances as the two disabled leads, while the lack of condescension and genuine pathos displayed by Romola Garai's character offers some pertinent tips on how to cope with similarly afflicted people in the real world.

The story of Varick Frissell is one of the most tragic in the real-life history of Hollywood, made even more so by the early talent the filmmaker exhibited. Influenced by Robert Flaherty, a pioneer of documentary film and Frissell's mentor, Frissell had a vision for the future of documentary film; in pursuit of this vision, he approached Paramount with a project on Newfoundland seal hunters. The studio agreed to fund his film, impressed by the two previous documentaries he had made, THE LURE OF LABRADOR and THE SWILIN' RACKET; Frissell soon embarked on the SS Viking, manned by a large crew of seamen and production people, from the port of St. John, Newfoundland. Six days later, a freak explosion on the ship killed Frissell and 26 other crew members, and left the rest of the passengers stranded on the ice floes.
