In this fascinating and bizarre documentary about five obsessive film buffs living in New York City, directors Angela Christlieb and Stephen Kijak take us inside the lives of their subjects, showing us their homes, their day-to-day calendars and schedules, and talking to them about the art of being compulsive filmgoers. Jack, Eric, Harvey, Bill, and Roberta are all afflicted with the same bug: they love movies, almost more than life itself. Each of them has a unique, and usually rather complex system for tracking what movies are playing in New York's theaters, at its museums, and in its festivals. With this kind of detailed attention and care, they sometimes attend up to five movies a day, carefully working in meals and transportation time. Interviews with each of the film's five cinemaniacs reveal some very interesting related topics. For instance, an obsessive moviegoer must be prepared for inside-theater climate as well as outside-theater weather. He must plan when he will have time to go the bathroom so as not to miss any of the film. In addition, these cinemaniacs have a very good knowledge of projection, color, and which prints of their favorite movies are in circulation. Conversations about favorite movie stars reveal the extent to which these five buffs live in a fantasy world, and they are unemployed in order to facilitate their movie schedules. A funny, strange, and quite unbelievable portrait of these five loners who literally live in the theaters, CINEMANIA will delight obsessive movie fans and casual viewers alike. This film screened at the SXSW 2003 film festival in Austin, Texas.DVD Features:Region 0Keep CaseAdditional Release Material: Deleted Scenes TrailersInteractive Features: Scene Access Interactive Menus

Lucy Walker's DEVIL'S PLAYGROUND documents the Amish rite of passage known as Rumspringa, during which a young Amish person leaves the community to experience the English World or Devil's Playground before they decide whether or not to join the Amish church. Walker pays particular attention to Faron, a young man who seems particularly adept at navigating the seamier side of the English World as he begins using drugs and acquires a girlfriend, even though he intends to return to the Amish community. Thoughtful and provocative without being exploitative, DEVIL'S PLAYGROUND manages to be both touching and shocking as it explores the volatility of adolescence and religious faith.DVD Features:Region 0Keep CaseInteractive Features: Scene Access Interactive Menus

A Hoboken native and one of the world's first photographic artists, Alfred Steiglitz was one of the 20th century's best and most influential artists. Stieglitz was one of the first photographers to push the medium to its limits, when, in the late 1800s, he began making photographs at night as well as photographing snow and rain, all of which had been long thought to be technically impossible. Later, he formed the Photo Secession Group, a society of photographers dedicated to promoting photography as an art, and established the famous gallery known as 291 that launched the career of many artists. Steiglitz's greatest work came after this, when he began to concentrate on photography once again, a period that saw him produce his most famous works: studies of his wife, Georgia O'Keefe. This documentary is a look at the life and achievements of Stieglitz, who has become known as the Father of Modern Photography.DVD Features:Region 0Keep CaseFull FrameAudio: Stereo - EnglishInteractive Features: Scene Access Interactive Menus

The photographic work of Walter Genewein is presented and discussed in this documentary release. No ordinary photographer, Genewein was the chief accountant for the Nazi party in the Second World War, and documented many of the atrocities that occurred in slave labor camps. The harrowing pictures are made even more disturbing by the ghostly narration from holocaust survivor Dr. Arnold Mostowicz, who recollects his experiences at the hands of Hitler-disciples such as Genewin. Moving and grotesque in equal measures, this is an important historical artefact of a dark moment in world history.DVD Features:Region (unknown)Keep CaseFull Frame - 1.33Audio: Dolby Digital 5.1 - English

This controversial documentary takes a unique look at the atrocities that occurred in the Second World War. Posing a fundamental question that has been overlooked for decades, TV journalist Mike Wallace asks whether more could have been done by the Allied Forces about the infamous gas chambers and concentration camps that proliferated under Nazi rule. Asking why they weren't destroyed, and whether it was known of their existence during the war, Wallace poses some highly personal and provocative questions concerning why THEY LOOKED AWAY.DVD Features:Region (unknown)Keep CaseFull Frame - 1.33Audio: Dolby Digital 5.1 - English

When J.H. Hatfield published a biography of George W. Bush entitled FORTUNATE SON in 1999, it looked set to become a best seller. Not afraid to detail the past indiscretions of the President, Hatfield alleged that Bush had been arrested for cocaine possession back in 1972. Publishers St. Martins Press got cold feet when they discovered Hatfield was a former felon, and immediately withdrew the publication from the shelves. Arguments raged as to whether or not the Bush administration was the real force behind the decision to drop the book, but one fact remained for sure: FORTUNATE SON was out of circulation. The tiny Soft Skull Press decided to relaunch Hatfield's tome, but struggled to make any headway towards getting the book into stores. A last throw of the dice for Soft Skull came at the 2001 Book Expo of America, where the company decided to reveal the source for much of Hatfield's information--namely Karl Rove, a close political confidant of George W. Bush. A media frenzy ensued, and the book wound up back in publication. But further sinister events were to unfold, leaving many vital questions about the Bush administration unanswered. These events are expertly detailed in HORNS AND HALOS, a moving documentary from directors Suki Hawley and Michael Galinsky (HALF-COCKED). Speaking to many key players involved in the case, they create a detailed study, and point to some frighteningly bleak implications for the publishing world as a result of Hatfield's experiences.DVD Features:Region (unknown)Keep CaseFull Frame - 1.33Additional Release Material: Commentary: 1.
