Dim Sum - A Little Bit of Heart (DVD)
After the success of his low-budget CHAN IS MISSING, the story of a couple of Chinese cabdrivers and some missing money in Chinatown, Wayne Wang returned to the exploration of the melding of Chinese and American culture. In DIM SUM: A LITTLE BIT OF HEART, he moves away from the streets of San Francisco s Chinatown and concentrates on a simple story about the interactions of a Chinese family. Laureen Chew, who appeared in CHAN IS MISSING, cowrote the story with Wang and Terrel Seltzer. She portrays Geraldine, a 30-year-old woman who still lives with her widowed mother. Geraldine has a boyfriend, Richard (John Nishio), who wants to marry her, but she doesn t want to leave her mother (Kim Chew) alone. She is, as her uncle Tam (Victor Wong) says,
a good Chinese daughter.
Tam, a lifelong friend of Geraldine`s father and not really her uncle, wants to marry her mother, but she also is
too Chinese,
and doesn t want to remarry. As the most Americanized of the characters from his generation, Uncle Tam tries to find some common ground so the mother and daughter can each find happiness in life. Wong, in a wonderfully written and acted part, projects a warmth and earthy wisdom about both Chinese and American culture in this funny, perceptive look at family life.

This epic chronicle of Christ begins with the arrangements of the wedding between Joseph and Mary, proceeds through Jesus' birth, his encounter with John the Baptist, and all the way to the grueling, transfigurative end. The all-star cast includes Anne Bancroft, Laurence Olivier, Michael York, James Mason, Rod Steiger, and Robert Powell as Jesus. As the beautiful locations, superb performances, and reverent portrayals reveal, Franco Zeffirelli (OTELLO, HAMLET) directed this six-hour-plus television miniseries with palpable passion.DVD Features:Region 1Keep Case2-Disc SetFull Frame - 1.33Audio: Dolby Digital 2.0 - EnglishAdditional Release Material: TrailerText/Photo Gallery: Additional Text - 1. The 11th book in the best-selling Peter Decker/Rina Lazarus crime-solving series finds LAPD Lieutenant Peter Decker on a dangerous search for the truth behind the mysterious death of Dr. Emil Euler Ganz, also known as Father Jupiter. A once-preeminent astrophysicist and world-renowned professor, Dr. Ganz vanished for 10 years and reemerged as the ironfisted founder of a pseudo-scientific cult called the Order of the Rings of God. When Dr. Ganz is found dead with a fifth of vodka and a bottle of pills at his bedside, Decker, his wife Rina, and his team of homicide detectives must surpass a series of disturbing forensic evidence, mangled corpses, hidden pasts, and deadly secrets before even more lives are lost.
