IN THEATRES: SEPTEMBER 24, 2004 (LIMITED)Sylvia Stickles's (Tracey Ullman) Baltimore neighborhood is becoming overrun with perverts, and she is very concerned. But that changes when Sylvia gets in a car accident, receiving a hard blow to the head that leaves her sexually voracious. Luckily, she gets a quick fix from Ray Ray (Johnny Knoxville), a tow-truck driver whom she soon discovers to be a high priest of sexual perversion. In the midst of searching indiscriminately for satisfaction and finally relating to her overly buxom, exhibitionist teenage daughter, Clarice (Selma Blair), Sylvia finds herself on the opposite side of a war for decency being waged by the neighborhood neuters, in which every sexual encounter is an act of revolution!Nearly 35 years from the revolutionary PINK FLAMINGOS, John Waters proves that, even after showing his gentler side (HAIRSPRAY, CRY-BABY), he's not getting soft in his old age. Once again proving his gift for inspired casting--Chris Isaak plays Sylvia's husband and Suzanne Shepherd plays her mother--he creates a virtual comedic catalogue of strange sexual practices sure to please longtime fans and win over the uninitiated. While Waters is no-doubt pleased to have earned a taboo NC-17 rating (mostly for language), he also presents some good-natured fun in the midst of the pervasive perversity.

Now, after 12 children and a happy life in rural Illinois, Tom has been offered the chance to live his dream and coach the Stallions. No sooner does the family pack up and move to Chicago to pursue Tom`s dream job than Kate`s ship comes in as well: a publisher has picked up her manuscript based on her experiences raising 12 children. Of course, there`s a hitch. Kate has to go to New York for a few days, leaving Tom as the primary care-giver for his clan. Can Tom hold it together with his kids--who didn`t want to move in the first place--pulling him one way and the university pulling him the other? Shawn Levy directs this likable update of the 1950 film of the same title, which was based on a true story.ICE AGE: A star-studded cast provides the voices for the prehistoric creatures in this computer-animated feature set 20,000 years ago as the Ice Age approaches. Seemingly anti-social Manny, a woolly mammoth (voiced by Ray Romano), acts as if he just wants to be left alone. When he meets Sid (voiced by John Leguizamo), a sloth, the two become unlikely traveling companions. The plot thickens when the duo finds a human infant and decides to try to return the child to its
herd.
Manny slowly but surely reveals his heart of gold, while Sid continues to provide comic relief. Diego (voiced by Denis Leary), a saber-tooth tiger with ulterior motives, soon joins them in their search for the humans. Ultimately, this group of misfits becomes its own herd, learning about friendship and loyalty as they brave snow, ice, hail, freezing temperatures, predators, and even boiling lava pits. IN THEATRES: JUNE 17, 2005Hilary Duff stars in this comedy as Holly, a teenager whose lovelorn single mom (Heather Locklear) moves the family--including her youngest daughter (Aria Wallace)--to a new state every time she gets dumped, which is often. Their latest residence turns out to be Brooklyn, where the now thoroughly destabilized Holly decides that enough is enough and works to prevent mom from dating yet another local loser. She uses a friend`s handsome uncle (Chris Noth) as the unwitting basis for a fictional secret admirer to keep mom occupied, but the deception quickly spins out of control, resulting in some madcap hijinx. Meanwhile, a classmate who is a comic book artist (Ben Feldman) falls for Holly, but she`s way too edgy to notice that love has found her instead of her mom. This whimsical plotline may sound familiar to any non-`tweener in the audience, but it works due to the relaxed, natural rapport between Duff and Locklear who share some heartfelt moments of mother-daughter bonding. Plus, no one can squirm in tortured embarrassment quite as effectively as Duff can, and she gets plenty of opportunities. The soundtrack is peppered with Styx songs (singer Dennis DeYoung plays an impersonator of himself) and Vanessa Lengies quietly stands out with plenty of natural grace as Holly`s hipster high school buddy.

Vin Diesel is great as a navy seal turned babysitter in this kid-friendly action comedy. A botched rescue mission (brimming with stunts) results in the death of a scientist and the hospitalization of seal team-leader Shane Wolf (Diesel). Once he recovers, he is assigned to duty as a bodyguard for the dead man's family. But even for a seal--toughened to the point of stoniness--dealing with the chaos, smells, noises, and complexities of a large, fatherless family proves to be a heavy challenge. The kids don't like his authoritative ways and they have no problem defying him at every turn. Eventually everybody bonds and while the family teaches him to listen and relax, he teaches them the combat skills they need to succeed in suburban Los Angeles. It's all very funny but the film really works best as a showcase for the range of Diesel; he takes his pratfalls in stride, his character's devotion to military discipline and honor is inspiring; and his bonding with the family is sweet without being saccharine. What's more, he still gets the chance to kick some serious bad-guy butt. Lauren Graham (BAD SANTA) plays the kindly grade school principal and love interest. EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND's Brad Garrett is hilarious as a sadistic wrestling coach. There's also a crotch-biting pet duck, ninjas, sewer-diving, a troop of kung fu-fighting girl scouts, and the hilarious Panda Dance.
