BEATRICE DI TENDA was one of Vincenzo Bellini's forgotten operas, it was re-staged more than a hundred years after the composer's death. Admired by Richard Wagner at the time, Bellini was a composer who tried many different styles of operas, and this more'experimental' opera was considered a failure at the time, as fans shouted Norma! Norma! from the audience, referring to his more popular work.
