Although packaged as an action-thriller, this is really a very peculiar psychodrama with whacked-out West Coast characters and ambiance. Good-hearted Mississippi boy Ray Frye (Leet) accidentally killed a perverted LA woman during sex (!). Now hervengeful husband, an addict cop no less (and Rourke to boot), is waiting to strike when Frye gets out of prison. But Ray goes out of the Frye pen and into the fire when, on parole, he boards with the scheming little family of a chintzy car-washentrepeneur. There's also a poison-dart serial killer on the loose who may or may not be relevant. Two principle actors share writing and directing credit in this eccentric exercise in style and thespian attitudes, that quaintly cloaks its sexy leadingladies in bikinis even during shower scenes.
