A trial has just been completed and Alberto, the defendant, has been found innocent in the death of his wife, Mabel. Grief-stricken, he begins to reminisce about his passionate love affair and its sad demise. Alberto met Mabel when she was a small-time actress, and fell madly in love with her. After they were married, she asked to be allowed to continue working and seeing her good friend, Luis. Alberto agreed to this arrangement, but found it difficult to deal with, suspecting an affair between his wife and her friend. After his jealousy reaches a breaking point, Mabel leaves him and returns to her mother`s house. Alberto wins a second chance, but his jealous nature threatens a tragic end.
